O.Reg 127 and NPRI Reporting

Ontario Regulation 127/01: Airborne Contaminant Discharge - Monitoring and Reporting

In accordance with Ontario Regulation 127/01, owners and operators of industrial, commercial, health care, and educational facilities are required to provide the Ministry of the Environment with an annual inventory of the contaminants (chemicals) that are released from their building into the air. Releases include industrial emissions and fuel heating combustion by-products. The compliance deadline is June 1st.

Likewise, the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) is a federal initiative where owners or operators of industrial facilities that manufacture, process or use specified quantities of chemical substances are required to report their discharges (transfers) to air, water, waste, and recycle. The compliance deadline is also June 1st.

Considering the complexity of data collection and reporting, we recommend that you begin immediately, or retain the services of a qualified professional firm such as Pinchin Environmental. Thousands of companies are impacted by these regulations and time is running out.
