Permitting, Reporting and Compliance

To help clients keep abreast of new Air Quality, Certificate of Approval (CofA) permitting and emission reporting initiatives and the potential impact on their operations, Pinchin Environmental is offering a regulatory update seminar that will cover the following:

1) Ontario Regulation 419/05 Phase-In:

February 2010 is the next compliance date. Are you ready? We’ll discuss how it impacts you and what you need to do right now?

2) Toxics Reduction Act:

The Toxic Reduction Act has passed and starting January 2010 most manufacturers across Ontario will have record keeping and possibly reporting obligations. In this segment we’ll discuss what this Act means to Ontario manufacturers and how you might be able to use it to your advantage.

3) City of Toronto Environmental Reporting and Disclosure Program:

Starting January 2010, companies in Toronto will be required to track and possibly report on 25 contaminants manufactured, processed or used at their facilities. The City estimates that 4,000 to 7,000 facilities may be impacted. In this segment we’ll discuss the requirements of this Bylaw and how we can help.

4) Green Energy Act:

The Green Energy Act has passed and it might provide opportunities for companies who develop and sell “green” power to the grid. We’ll discuss the Act, incentives and streamlined approvals process.

5) Compliance Management :

Acts and Regulations are being passed at lightning speed. It’s almost impossible for companies to stay on top of the announcements let alone understand and manage their obligations. In this segment we’ll discuss how we can diminish your compliance anxiety.

Note that Pinchin Environmental has developed a Compliance Management Program designed:

  • to keep you abreast of existing and proposed regulation changes so that you’re not blindsided
  • to digest the information and provide a site specific summary of what you need to do
  • to help you manage your critical compliance dates

Background

Recently, the Ontario legislature passed several environmental Acts and the Ministry of the Environment is drafting regulations that will impact manufacturing companies across Ontario.

In addition, the City of Toronto introduced a new environmental reporting and public disclosure initiative that will impact between 4,000 and 7,000 facilities once fully implemented.
