Many building owners and property managers are not aware that in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act of Ontario, a Certificate of Approval (CofA) is required before you install or operate HVAC equipment, cooling towers, boilers or power generators. In addition, depending on your approval, it might have to be amended BEFORE you add or replace equipment.

There are also specific air and noise compliance limits for emergency power generators.

We've designed the Commercial CofA Seminar specifically for commercial building owners and property managers. We'll lead you through the approval process so you can map out your compliance strategy. We'll answer all your questions, inform you of the cost implications, and help you decide which approval is best suited for your business.

Answers Provided:

  • Why do I care ? Plain English review of relevant sections of the Environmental Protection Act
  • Which approval is best ? Consolidated and Basic Comprehensive approval options
  • How much will it cost ? Up front and ongoing costs
  • How do I comply ? Air & Noise compliance requirements
  • How does the new Air Pollution Regulation impact me?
  • Where can I get more information? Environmental resources - eLinks
  • FAQs
