Background

On February 1, 2010, the Town of Oakville passed By-Law 2010-035 to control the emissions of fine particulate matter and to assess the health effects of these emissions in the local airshed.

Facilities on properties larger than about 10,800 ft2 or that contain 25 or more residential dwelling units and emit fine particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulphur dioxide, or volatile organic compounds must report these emissions to the Town.

Facilities that meet the reporting criteria and hold a provincial Certificate of Approval (Air and Noise) were required to submit their report by May 1, 2011. All other facilities must submit their report by September 1, 2012.

Facilities that exceed NPRI thresholds for these targeted substances will be required to obtain an approval from the Town of Oakville to operate. Approvals must now be obtained by September 1, 2012.

Have a Question for Our Course Leader?

Pinchin delivers close to a hundred seminars per year and we recognize that some people are not comfortable asking potentially sensitive questions in an open forum. We will gladly deal with these one-on-one but if you want to email the question ahead of time, we'll make sure we answer it during the seminar. Send questions to General Inquiries.

Speakers

Pinchin Environmental speakers are consultants and engineers working in their respective areas and selected from our staff for their knowledge and presentation skills.
