Heavy Fines for Improper Asbestos Removal

Companies, cities and individuals are being found guilty for failing to take every precaution reasonable to protect workers from asbestos, before work is started.

In addition to heavy fines, the court is imposing 25-per-cent victim fine surcharges, as required by the Provincial Offences Act.

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has
posted for comment a Policy Proposal Notice that provides emission
limits for power generator sets that are used in non-emergency
situations such as for peak shaving or in the Ontario Power Authorities
(OPA) Demand Response (DR) Program. The limits will apply to internal
combustion engines running on diesel, bio-diesel, natural gas, or dual
fuel (natural gas/diesel) systems.
