Project Technologist
Mississauga, ON REF# BS-PT

Responsibilities & Attributes:

The Mississauga office is recruiting for the position of Project Technologist for the Building Science Group.  The overall responsibilities for this position include:

  • Building condition assessments;
  • Inspecting, designing and administering remedial work;
  • Preparing written reports, summarizing data and creating CAD drawings;
  • Financial involvement and coordination with projects;
  • Maintaining and enhancing quality control within the group;
  • Any other job related duties that may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications:

A college diploma is required, preferably in Construction, Architectural or Science related degree.  In addition, all applicants must have at least 2-5 years of relevant experience with building construction or maintenance.  Knowledge of various building envelope assemblies is preferred.  A valid drivers license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated). Vehicle must be able to safely transport and carry 20 foot extension or folding ladder, hand tools and PPE.

Project Manager
Mississauga, ON REF# BS-PM

Responsibilities & Attributes:

The Mississauga office is recruiting for the position of Project Manager for the Building Science Group.  The overall responsibilities for this position include:

  • Participating in client development and marketing initiatives;
  • Supervising Project Technologists in their job functions;
  • Training and mentoring of junior staff, including reviewing of written work;
  • Maintaining and enhancing quality control within the group;
  • Scheduling and coordinating field or on-site activities pertaining to building condition assessments, reserve fund studies and energy audits;
  • Inspecting, designing and administering remedial work;
  • Preparing reports, summarizing data and creating CAD drawings;
  • Any other job related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

 
Qualifications:

A college diploma is required, preferably in Construction, Architectural Technology or Science related degree. A P.Eng. designation may also be accepted.  In addition, all applicants must have at least 5 years of relevant experience with building construction or maintenance.  Construction experience on retrofit projects is preferred.  A valid drivers license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated). Building Science/Architectural Technologist:
Hamilton, ON - REF# HAM-BS/AT

The Hamilton office is recruiting a Civil Engineers, Building Science, Architectural or Construction Technologist to fill the position of Building Science/Architectural Technologist for the Hazardous Materials Management Group.

This position involves a combination of field, office and laboratory activities.

Field work includes project inspecting, site reporting, sampling and monitoring. Office work will include preparation of communications and reports. Laboratory work involves air and bulk sample collection, analysis of air samples and general support assistance.

Valid drivers license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated). Training will be provided on laboratory & field safety as well as any other specific job related activities. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply to this entry level position as experience is not mandatory.

Intermediate/Senior Building Science Engineer, Building Sciences
Hamilton, ON - REF# HAM-BLG SCI

Responsibilities & Attributes:

The Hamilton office is now recruiting for the position of Intermediate/Senior, Building Sciences.  The overall responsibilities for this position include:

  • Building condition assessments;
  • Investigation, design and administration of remedial work for the following components:
    • Roof systems;
    • Balcony systems;
    • Cladding systems;
    • Window and sloped glazing systems;
    • Underground parking garages.
  • Investigation of moisture penetration and evaluation of air infiltration/exfiltration;
  • Follow-up confirmation of remedial work completed;
  • Reserve fund studies.
  • Ability to develop work/business

Qualifications:

Successful candidates must hold a Degree in Civil or Building Engineering or a Diploma in Architectural/Civil Technology with a minimum of 5 years of significant experience in conducting building condition / property condition assessments, pre-purchase surveys and reserve fund calculations within building sciences or similar project management.   This position will also involve the senior technical review of building science – related reports.

Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment and shall possess a high level of oral and written communication skills which are essential to the position.  A valid drivers license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)
