Intermediate Project Manager (Asbestos)
Kingston & Ottawa REF# HAZ-PM4

Responsibilities & Attributes:

The successful candidate will demonstrate and bring forth good business & industry knowledge in the areas of asbestos project management and client services. 

The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing hazardous materials investigations and preparing investigation reports;
  • Overseeing hazardous materials consulting projects, including assessments, contract preparation, and remediation/abatement inspection work;
  • Preparing contract documents for hazardous materials abatement projects;
  • Client Development and Marketing;
  • Supervising Project Technologists in their job functions;
  • Training and mentoring of junior staff, including reviewing of written work;
  • Maintaining and enhancing quality control within the group.

Qualifications :

An appropriate/related designation or certification is required.  All applicants must have at least 2-5 years of relevant experience. Minimum qualifications include an appropriate diploma or degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.  Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment and shall possess a high level of oral and written communication skills which are essential to the position.  Valid drivers license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated). Training will be provided on field investigations & safety as well as any other specific job related activities.

Responsibilities & Attributes:

The Hazardous Materials Management is seeking a Civil Engineer, Building Science, Architectural or Construction Technologist to fill the position of Project Technologist.  The overall responsibilities for this position include:

  • Performing hazardous materials investigations, designated substance surveys and preparing investigation reports;
  • On-site inspection during removal of hazardous materials;
  • Sampling and analysis of air samples;
  • Preparing hand written or typed reports & drawings detailing the findings and recommendations;
  • Maintaining and enhancing quality control within the group.

Qualifications:

A valid drivers license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated).  Training will be provided on laboratory & field safety as well as any other specific job related activities.  Recent graduates are encouraged to apply to this entry level position as experience is not mandatory.
