New MOE Policy Proposal

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has posted for comment a Policy Proposal Notice that provides emission limits for power generator sets that are used in non-emergency situations such as for peak shaving or in the Ontario Power Authorities (OPA) Demand Response (DR) Program. The limits will apply to internal combustion engines running on diesel, bio-diesel, natural gas, or dual fuel (natural gas/diesel) systems.  read more »

Update on Risks and Control of Mould, Lead and Silica on Construction Projects

Moulds are microscopic organisms, part of the Fungi kingdom of living matter, most of which reproduce through the production of massive numbers of spores. Mould spores can germinate within 24 hours of wetting and will produce the next generation of spores within 3 to 7 days. Current standards require that wetted materials be dried within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mould growth.  read more »

MTCU Asbestos Worker and Supervisor Type 3 Reference Material

As of November 1, 2007 all workers in Ontario who perform Type 3 Asbestos Abatement work and their Supervisors must be certified as per O.Reg. 278/05 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
