Construction and maintenance activities can cause potentially fatal infections in patients near the project area in any health care setting. Even relatively minor work can cause serious infections, if performed near susceptible patients.

This Complimentary Session will discuss CSA Standard (Z317.13-17) “Infection Control during Construction, Renovation and Maintenance of Health Care Facilities” and problems related to dust control and Legionella management.

Daryl Aiken, B.Sc., M.Sc.
Project Manager, Indoor Environmental Quality

Daryl Aiken is a project manager with the Indoor Environmental Quality Group. Daryl also participates in development of junior and intermediate staff in the group through training, coordination and quality assurance. Daryl also has training and experience in the identification and analysis of asbestos and a background in agricultural research on bacteria and fungi.
