Why Attend?

The potential for encountering hazardous materials is almost a certainty in any renovation or demolition involving older buildings. In many instances these matters have not been considered in the planning or design stages - which results in an unexpected exposure to hazardous materials such as asbestos, mould and PCBs. In addition to the health and safety concerns, poorly planned work may result in possible contamination of surrounding areas and large clean-up costs and project delays.

This Awareness Session will provide an excellent overview of the most common environmental issues facing contractors today. The identification, health risks and management of asbestos, mould and PCBs will be the primary focus. Special precautions regarding work in health care facilities will also be discussed. This “to the point” session is a must for anyone working in older buildings.

Format And Methodology

This session is designed as an informative breakfast presentation, based on a combination of slide presentations and discussions. Several real-life cases will be presented.

This seminar is available for on-site presentation, either in the complete format or in a modified version to suit particular needs.

A certificate of completion is issued at the end of the seminar.
