Environmental Risk: Insurers and Adjusters
Pinchin Environmental provides environmental services to the insurance industry on a wide range of issues.
Pinchins multi-disciplinary staff bring an understanding of the specific concerns of the industry, particularly the immediate response that insurance clients require. In addition, Pinchin has experience dealing with stakeholders who may have personal concerns regarding environmental or physical hazards.
Virtually all of the services provided by Pinchin have been of use to insurers, adjusters and lawyers involved in insurance claims resolution. Some of these are as follows:
Spill Response and Remediation
Organizing rapid response to petroleum and chemical spills.
- Consulting and arranging clean up of fuel and chemical spills in residential, commercial and industrial properties.
- Liaison with claimants, adjustors and regulatory agencies to quickly resolve claims.
- Provision of qualified licensed contractors.
- Undertaking appropriate actions to significantly reduce clients liabilities and risk.
- Testing for discharge of contaminants (fuel oil, lead, asbestos, etc.) following accidental releases.
Water Damage Clean-Up/Microbial Contamination
- Consulting and testing for water damage clean-ups, including Microbial/Mould conamination.
- Identification of required extent of remediation.
- Preparation and inspection of remedial work plans for restoration of water damage in order to minimize liabilities and potential for call-backs.
Drinking Water
- Sampling of water wells and other potable supplies for contamination due to E. Coli, pesticides and herbicides, etc.
Health and Safety Services During Remediation
- Provision of comprehensive health and safety testing during investigation and remediation.
Expert Witness Services
Provision of expert opinions regarding claims for issues including professional liability, disclosure of contaminants in property sale, and contamination of residences caused by asbestos removal and mould contamination of residential properties.
- Provision of opinions related to health concerns of occupants. In some cases this has avoided claims and/or legal actions.
