Asbestos Training for Maintenance
Workers - 1 Day Course

At the end of this course, participants will have a broad understanding of:
- The history of Asbestos materials in buildings
- Health effects
- Ministry of Labour and Environment regulations
- Classification of Asbestos work
- Respiratory protection
- Type 1, Type 2 and glove bag procedures
Course Outline:
Pinchin Environmental offers this training course to teach maintenance workers and supervisors how to work safely around asbestos materials. The course meets the requirements of the Ontario Regulation, Designated Substance - Asbestos on Construction Projects and in Buildings and Repair Operations, as well as the prior Ministry of Labour Level 2 Training Guidelines.
Format and Methodology:
This is a one-day course. The course delivery includes ‘hands-on’ sessions to practice glove bag use and Type 2 enclosure procedures. In addition, attendees receive and are fit-tested with a half-facepiece respirator. Discussions are strongly encouraged. The course concludes with a review exercise.
A course manual is provided to minimize the need to take notes and to maximize participation. The course manual also allows for better retention of knowledge and creates individualized follow-up reference material. Pinchin Environmental Ltd. will issue a certificate to each participant at the end of this course.
