As of November 1, 2007 all supervisors in Type 3 Asbestos Abatement sites in Ontario will be required to have completed a Training Program approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).

This course is designed for Supervisors of Type 3 projects who have successfully passed the Asbestos Worker examination set by the MTCU.  It is mandatory to be a Certified Worker first prior to becoming a Certified Supervisor.

Prior to registering for this course, employers (or the local joint union/employer training committee) must register as a Signing Authority with MTCU. (contact Pinchin or your local MTCU office for details.) (This approval as Signing Authority may take up to 4 weeks).

You also need to complete the Construction Safety Association of Ontario (CSAO)’s Basics of Supervising course or proof of completion of an equivalent formal construction supervisor course having a minimum duration of 16 hours lesson time.  We recommend you complete this course prior to taking our 1 Day 253 Supervisor course.
