Surveys for Designated Substances
Pinchin assists building owners in the mandatory identification of hazardous materials.
The Current List of Designated Substances Regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Labour Includes:
- acrylonitrile
- arsenic
- asbestos
- benzene
- coke oven emissions
- ethylene oxide
- isocyanates
- lead
- mercury
- silica (free crystalline silica)
- vinyl chloride monomer (not PVC)
Under Ontario's regulations, the owner must provide the contractor with information on the presence of these materials on a prospective construction site. Other jurisdictions have similar regulations, covering somewhat different agents.
Rapid Reporting of Results
Pinchin's ability to perform in-house or field analysis for asbestos and lead (the two substances of most concern) allows rapid reporting of results.
