The impact of poor indoor air quality on comfort and health often results in occupant dissatisfaction, loss of productivity and loss of revenue. The Pinchin Environmental Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) course will provide information to owners, managers and Health & Safety representatives to help meet occupants’ increasing expectations for satisfactory air quality in the indoor environment.

This course will present an overview to achieve an understanding of:

• IAQ problems
• describe how to arrange for or conduct IAQ investigations
• identify indoor air pollution sources
• develop solutions to improve the working environment

Course Outline:

The energy crisis of the 1970’s had a drastic effect on the design and operating philosophy of modern building ventilation systems. Many buildings were designed to limit the amount of outside air introduced into the building. Others are operated to minimize air exchange to control heat loss and the costs associated with conditioning the building air. Poor design, operation and maintenance can result in stale, polluted or foul indoor air.

The impact of poor air quality on comfort, health and occupant attitudes often results in dissatisfaction and loss of productivity and revenue. The Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) seminar will provide information to help meet occupants increasing expectations for satisfactory air quality in the indoor environment. The seminar will present an overview: to achieve an understanding of IAQ problems, on how conduct IAQ investigations, identification of indoor air pollution sources and solutions to improve the working environment.

Format and Methodology:

This is a one-day course. The course content focuses on both the regulatory requirements and practical concerns of the building owner, manager and Health and Safety representatives. Discussions are strongly encouraged.

A course manual is provided to minimize the need to take notes and to maximize participation. The course manual also allows for better retention of knowledge and creates individualized follow-up reference material. Follow-up training support and materials are available.

Certificates:

Pinchin Environmental Ltd. will issue a certificate to each participant at the end of this course.
