What Every Property Owner and Manager Must Know
Determining who is responsible for water safety in buildings is not always very clear. The responsibility generally falls somewhere among the building owner, the facility manager and the company contracted for water treatment. ASHRAE 188P holds those responsible for the water systems responsible for water safety.
The disease caused by Legionella bacteria is currently recognized as Legionnaires' disease. Legionnaires’ disease is serious with possible fatalities to healthy individuals and particularly to immune compromised persons, the elderly, smokers, etc.
