    The first of its kind in Canada and possibly North America, the Construction Infection Control Project was completed within a Nursing Station serving an active Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) in Winnipeg, Manitoba while it remained fully operational.     Health Canada has released a national standard for precautions to be taken during construction and maintenance work in hospitals and other health care settings.
