Environmental Laboratory Services
Pinchin Environmental offers selected analytical services to support the fields of environmental management and occupational safety and health. Our services are available to building owners, consultants, engineers and laboratories on a confidential fee-for-service basis. Some analytical services may be provided in the field, if rapid turnaround of results is required.

The Pinchin Environmental Microbiology laboratory is fully accredited for bulk, air and surface analysis of moulds by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Environmental Microbiological Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP) and participates in AIHA Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing (EMPAT) Program (Lab ID# 158835).
The Pinchin Environmental Asbestos Laboratory is accredited under the U.S. National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) (meeting ISO 17025 requirements).
Odour Evaluations are conducted following the procedures outlined in the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Draft "Source Sampling for Odours," Version #2, February 1989, using an AC’SCENT® International triangular forced-choice, ascending concentration, dynamic dilution olfactometer and a panel of 8 trained assessors.
Dust Analysis
Pinchin Environmental provides direct microscopic analysis of environmental dust for particulates such as man-made, animal and plant fibres, pollens, and other categories of particulates.
Lead is measured in paint with on-site nondestructive X-Ray Fluorescence instrumentation or through laboratory analysis in paint, soil, air samples and swabs via Anodic Stripping Voltametry.
