Testing for Mould in Buildings
- Complimentary Breakfast -
Many property managers and environmental professionals are now responsible to investigate potential mould concerns in buildings. Unlike most other hazardous materials, there are few published procedures for mould testing.
This session will assist those responsible for health and safety in the selection of appropriate testing methods and laboratory support. Dr. Rafic Dulymamode, Director of Pinchin Environmental Microbiology Laboratory, will present options for materials testing and air sampling, discuss advantages of direct microscope examination versus culture analysis, and offer tips for interpretation of results.
The session will include demonstrations of the more common testing and analytical methods and equipment, and will conclude with a tour of the Pinchin AIHA accredited laboratory.
