Brownfield Redevelopment

Brownfield sites are vacant or underutilized lands where former industrial or commercial activities may have resulted in contamination of soil, surface water or groundwater. Brownfield redevelopment can offer significant economic and community benefit, but developers must actively understand and manage the environmental risks associated with former land use and existing contamination. Many provincial and municipal government agencies require a Record of Site Condition or other documentation to show that the site is safe for the new proposed land uses.

Pinchin’s team of remediation and risk assessment experts across Canada are able to develop an appropriate brownfield strategy, beginning with environmental site assessments that meet regulatory standards. Pinchin’s solutions can include custom remediation plans that address each site’s unique characteristics and history. Where complete clean up is not technically or financially feasible Pinchin can complete a risk assessment to control and manage contamination.
