Building Decommissioning

Decommissioning a building has the potential to pose a number of environmental health and safety risks to workers and the surrounding community. Property owners and their contractors must be aware of hazardous materials in the building, and existing or potential surface and subsurface contamination on the property. Provincial and municipal regulations require employers to take steps to protect workers and neighbours from harmful and nuisance impacts during demolition.

Our team of national staff has the experience and training to address issues that may affect not only a building interior's environmental issues, but also site and soil, particularly during pre-demolition decontamination and abatement. We have successfully supported the demolition of a range of industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings across Canada. We are able to complete pre-demolition surveys, develop remediation and abatement specifications, and tender packages for contractors.
