Plant Decommissioning

Decommissioning a building has the potential to pose a number of environmental health and safety risks to workers and the surrounding community. Business owners and their contractors must be aware of hazardous materials in the building, and existing or potential surface and subsurface contamination on the property. Provincial and municipal regulations require employers to take steps to protect workers and neighbours from harmful and nuisance impacts during demolition.

Our staff has the experience and training to address issues that may affect not only a building's interior environmental issues, but also site and soil, particularly pre-demolition decontamination. We have successfully assisted of the demolition of a range of industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings. We are able to complete pre-demolition surveys and develop specifications and tender packages for contractors to ensure work is done safely and meets all relevant legal requirements.
