Confined Space
Confined spaces are found in most workplaces. Tanks, pits, and trenches, among hundreds of other spaces, may present atmospheric and safety hazards that must be identified and controlled prior to and during entry into these environments. On Sept 30, 2006, new and amended regulations regarding confined spaces took effect. These changes will significantly affect how employers manage confined space entries in their workplaces.
This one-day workshop provides the attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to:
- understand and comply with new regulatory requirements effective Sept 30, 2006
- identify confined spaces and associated hazards
- conduct hazard assessments
- develop confined space programs, plans, permits and procedures
- identify appropriate hazard controls (e.g. atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, retrieval methods)
A variety of safety equipment is demonstrated.
