The Workplace
Health & Safety Act
Review
Complimentary Breakfast - Winnipeg
You may be aware that in Manitoba there have been recent changes to the law regarding the responsibilities of workplace parties. In the past, the law required that the employer be the person who was mainly responsible for protecting worker safety and health. There were also some duties required for workers and self-employed persons as well.
In 2002 and 2005, the Act was amended with a number of changes. Most of the new changes set new requirements into law for all workplace parties. Not only are there now increased responsibilities for employers, workers and self employed persons; but there are now new responsibilities for supervisors, owners, suppliers, prime contractors, and contractors.
These changes can be confusing for people who do not work full-time in the occupational safety and health field. In this Breakfast Seminar, Pinchin staff who are experienced in the field of safety and health will explain these changes in user-friendly terms. The contents of the new law will be discussed, and practical methods for compliance will be described.
