Respiratory Protection 

 

Whenever a respirator is worn, all managers and supervisors have a legal obligation to have a written Policy in place and be familiar with CAN/CSA-Z94.4-02.

This 4 hour course will introduce participants to the selection, use, and care of respiratory protection equipment.

Beginning with policy statements on how the type of protection is determined, Air Purifying Respirators (APR’s), Supplied Air and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus will be addressed in detail. As well, the limitations of all types of respiratory equipment, the limitations of the user and the requirements for fit testing.

Participants will understand the methods for determining the correct cartridge types for APR’s and basic care, maintenance and testing of the equipment.
