Train the Trainer "Onsite" Program
This dynamic and challenging 1 day course will provide all the essentials for effective “in-house” training of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.).
The Ontario Health & Safety Act allows for a “competent person” to develop and deliver WHMIS training at their respective work location.
Beginning with a review of current WHMIS procedures, and a threshold knowledge test, participants will then begin to develop effective and well documented course training plans.
Methods of Adult Instruction including lesson plans, testing criteria, use of audio visual and training aids will be addressed in detail. The factors which affect how adults learn and the different techniques for information delivery are also key items that will be covered. The use of “micro topics” and objective evaluation of training methods will be detailed as well.
Participants will be given a CD containing valuable information that they may take back to their worksites in preparation for WHMIS training.
