Seminar Overview

The Ministry of Labour (MOL) places specific obligations on employers and building owners regarding the management of asbestos in buildings. Attend this session to find out about the measures and options for managing asbestos and minimizing the risk to employees and building occupants.

This session is also designed to help building owners, property managers, contractors, and consultants better understand their regulatory requirements and the potential impacts on their day to day operations, maintenance, and construction projects. This session will provide insight on appropriate assessment requirements, notifications and project planning techniques, to avoid costly project delays and financial impacts from unexpected discoveries, and Ontario regulatory “stop work” orders and fines.

Instructor Bio

Michael Harrett, C.E.T.
Regional Practice Leader - Ontario, Hazardous Materials

Michael Harrett is the Regional Practice Leader for the Hazardous Materials group at Pinchin Ltd. Michael is a Certified Engineering Technologist with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists

Michael has over 10 years of experience with Pinchin, including assisting clients with their needs in the fields of hazardous materials, microbial remediation, indoor air quality (IAQ), building condition assessments, and Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). He is responsible for all aspects of the proposed lifecycle from scope development, assessment, and sampling strategy development to managing remediation programs and the generation of specifications and contract documents.

As Regional Practice Leader, Michael assists in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality of work, as well as the support of local staff and management in financial and business support, staff development and coaching, and overall service delivery and quality of work.
