1. Do I need lead worker training to perform lead work?

Yes. Lead work operations can be classified as a Type 1, Type 2, or Type 3 in the Ministry of Labour’s lead on construction projects guideline.

Training is required for the type of lead work you’ll be performing.

2. I want to remove lead-containing paint. What training do I need?

Depending on how the removal is performed, removing lead-containing paint can be classified as a Type 1, Type 2a, or Type 3a in the Ministry of Labour’s lead on construction projects guideline. Refer to the guideline to determine what kind of lead work operations you will be performing.
