Environmental Microbiology Laboratory

Pinchin offers a full range of accredited microbiology laboratory services for moulds and bacteria including:

  • Analysis of bulk and surface samples for moulds by Direct Microscope Examination
  • Analysis of air samples for mould spores and house dust by Direct microscope examination
  • Isolation, identification and culturing of moulds air, fluids and bulk samples
  • Analysis of swab and bulk samples for sewage-indicator bacteria
  • Analysis of water and swab samples for Legionella by ISO 11731 method
  • Molecular Analysis (qPCR) of water and swab samples for Legionella pneumophila by ISO 12869 method
  • Access the exclusive Pinchin Ambient Mould Index (PAMI), a unique database tool that provides ambient mould spore counts on a regional basis

  • Mould analyses by Direct Microscope Examination (DME): Super Rush TAT 3 hours, Rush TAT 24 hours, Regular turnaround TAT 3 to 5 business days
  • Viable analysis for moulds in air, surface and bulk samples TAT 10-14 days
  • Legionella analysis by the ISO 11731 method TAT of 7 to 14 days
  • qPCR Legionella Analysis by ISO 12869 method for Legionella pneumophila within 24 hours of sample receipt
